A Full Circle Moment at Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children

Some days stay with you forever.

On a day in May that somehow feels both like yesterday and a lifetime ago, we brought Benjamin to visit Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children. It was a simple but meaningful moment—one we could never have known would hold such lasting significance.

Recently, we returned to WPSBC for the grand opening of their beautiful new Children’s Garden, honored alongside fellow contributors who helped make this special space possible. Designed for wonder, joy, and inclusion, the garden is more than a place to play—it is a place where children can explore, connect, and simply be children.

Standing there brought a wave of emotions that are difficult to put into words.

Full circle.
Bittersweet.
Sacred.

In the days following Benjamin’s passing, family and friends generously made donations to WPSBC in his memory. At the time, we also chose to direct every monetary gift given to our family to the school because we believed deeply that anything shared in Benjamin’s name belonged to something greater than ourselves.

Looking back now, we can see how those early acts of generosity quietly planted the seeds for what would become Benjamin Benefit Foundation.

Before there were programs, events, or outreach efforts, there was simply love—love from a community that carried us through unimaginable grief and showed us what compassion in action truly looks like.

That love has never been forgotten.

We remain endlessly grateful to everyone who walked beside us then and to those who continue to spread light, kindness, and hope in Benjamin’s honor today.

The Children’s Garden stands as a beautiful reminder that even the smallest seeds, planted through love and generosity, can grow into something extraordinary.

And perhaps most humbling of all is this truth:

The ripples from one little life continue to travel farther than we ever imagined. 💙
